Song of inspiration - Seasons of Love (from the movie 'Rent' )
---------------------
<edit> Please note that I think of these three as brothers and that the intent of this piece was to convey said brotherhood/friendship. Apologies for not being clear on this, but this is not to say you cannot interpret it as you please. XD I'm fine with that just as long as it's understood that wasn't the intent.</edit>
Gawwwwwd I wish I could've finished this last night!!! ;-;
Yeah, I was panic stricken when I realized I had yet to draw anything for the first day of the month-long NiGHTS art challenge posed by , and I came up with this sketch here. I really should've submitted this last night, but the piece grabbed me in such a way I felt compelled to finish it. As it turns out, though, I couldn't finish it even as a very poorly done digital!chalk-thing (which I'm not submitting because it's embarrassing... XDD ).
And yes, it is inspired by that one song from Rent (although the song only popped into my head after the basic idea formed itself in my mind's eye), which is how I decided on the title and filled that blank space in the BG. XDD It'll take some explaining to say why that song came to me and this piece struck me, but if I ever get that fanfic/comic started, ya might see why then. ;D ..... Or maybe I'll explain it later on since there's a snowball's chance in... ya know... that'll happen. XD
For now I'm posting this in my gallery, but I'll probably move it to scraps once I actually complete this piece/the art challenge is over.
Self-Criticism: Lots and lots and lots of anatomical mistakes. XDDD Despite using stick-person-skeleton sketches to draw his body, the general positioning of Jackle - especially his hands - still makes him look like a plush-toy, and NiGHTS's body is too long. There are also some things I never got around to erasing before I made a copy of the file to paint/chalk all over, but this was really the sketch. Jackle also might be too tall proportionately speaking, but it's difficult for me to tell. And I never did draw in Reala's classic arm-guards, did I? 0-0;;; Oops. XD

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
